This is an appalling story with what appears to be a happy ending. I hope those involved are brought to justice. Thank you to the volunteers.

YES - when will justice be served up and made public, as to who is responsible and punished for this calculated cruelty? This was NO act of kindness with what these poor pets were forced to endure, and left to die had they not been found! By letting this abuse go, what example does it show our children, let alone adults that they can do this and get away with it! I was one of the volunteers at the Glen Cove Petco on Sunday. I was told by the Animal Lovers' League (who has been coordinating the rescue/adoptions) that only one cat was adopted at the weekend event -- the pretty kitten in the picture above. The other cats are, to my knowledge, still available. PLEASE consider taking in one of these beauties. The young cat with the one blue eye and one brown eye has a wonderful personality, as does the beautiful gray cat (who unfortunately is FIV positive). These are wonderful cats who deserve better than what they have had. Please adopt. If you can't adopt, please volunteer. If you can't volunteer, please donate -- but please, do something!

To Voice of Reason and Christine: I agree, it is a disgrace the public hasn't been informed on who is responsible for this incident or what was the motive. Perhaps the person who caged these cats was misguided. We just want to know the facts. It seems the "authorities" hope the matter will just go away. Just like the bicyle rider killed on Port Blvd a few months ago, Nothing new is ever reported. Keep these incidents in mind when the elected or appointed offcials come looking for your vote. They are not serving the public if they withold information.
