Crime Report: Assault, DWI And More

Incidents and arrests in the Port Washington Police District.

 

The following arrest information was supplied by the Port Washington Police District. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions. All complaints listed are only alleged crimes under local investigation. 

Arrests

A Glen Cove man was placed under arrest for assault on Beechwood Avenue on Feb. 3 at 10:15 p.m.

A Port Washington man was placed under arrest for an open bench warrant on Haven Avenue on Feb. 2 at 2:38 a.m.

A Glen Head man was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated on Beacon Hill Road on Jan. 29 at 1:30 a.m.

After being involved in a domestic incident, a Port Washington man was placed under arrest on Harbor Road on Jan. 24 at 1:21 a.m.

A Port Washington man was placed under arrest for shoplifting on Jan. 23 at 5:05 p.m. at 75 Shore Road.

Complaints 

A woman on Litchfield Road reported that an unknown person or persons opened several credit cards without her authorization, on Feb. 2 at 11:32 a.m.

A woman on Flower Hill Place reported the theft of $860,000 from her bank account on Feb. 1 at 2:48 p.m.

A complainant reports a bomb threat on Main Street on Feb. 1 at 8:43 a.m.

A suspicious fire that occurred on Main Street on Jan. 29 at 5:15 a.m. is under investigation.  

A woman reported jewelry and other items missing from her home on Carlton Avenue on Jan. 27 at 4:10 p.m.

A woman reported that an unknown person or persons broke into her car on Jefferson Street on Jan. 25 at 9:16 p.m.

A man reported that an unknown person forged his signature and withdrew $5,000 from his bank account on Jan. 23.

A woman reported the theft of $860,000 from her bank account. That story deserves a followup. How did someone steal that much money from her bank account? Could someone please explain this.
