Hollywood Stars Filming at Landmark

Stars are in town to film 'The English Teacher' at the Jeanne Rimsky Theater.

is going Hollywood this week.

A film crew is in town to shoot "The English Teacher," a comedy starring Julianne Moore, Nathan Lane and Greg Kinnear.

"It's about an English teacher – Julianne Moore – who helps a former student, who was not successful producing his play in 'the big city,' to produce it back in their small town," said Sharon Maier-Kennelly, Landmark's executive director. "We're very excited."

The setting, the , was chosen when a scout discovered it after searching for an old school theater on Long Island, according to Maier-Kennelly.

The film is a project of "Weeds" director Craig Zisk,  Entertainment Weekly reported.

During the filming,  remains open to the public all week. However, the tent from the recent Landmark gala remains onsite as it is now being used to prepare meals for the film crew. And while there are propane tanks outside the tent, there is 24/7 security on the premises to ensure safety, Maier-Kennelly said. 

"Everything was done by the book," she said.

They crew, she added, will "load out just in time for our other film industry connection - the Bacon Brothers - to load in on Saturday, Nov. 19th."
