Golden Glow for H on the Harbor

Elegant and inventive, catering venue H on the Harbor changes its landscaping and exterior décor presentation four to five times a year. Dedication to design and aesthetics caught the eye of local residents, winning the facility the Golden Storefront Award for March.

"We keep it fresh and new," proprietor Alan Feinstein said. "Our exterior is a direct  reflection of what type of product our customers receive. Our stylish exterior tells you what's on the inside: food, style and service that is different and special."

The Golden Storefront Award is a joint effort of community groups Residents for a More Beautiful Washington (RFMBPW) and the Greater Port Washington Business Improvement District (BID). 

"The award thanks and congratulates local business owners for providing a place that the Port Washington community wants to shop and or dine," said Roy Smitheimer, executive director of the BID.

The Golden Storefront Award recognizes local merchants for maintaining attractive, well-groomed public facades and sidewalks. Winners must maintain a debris-free storefront and sidewalk area, weed and water sidewalk tree beds, regularly sweep sidewalks, adhere to trash collection schedules and maintain clear sight lines into store windows.

"We hope that this award will encourage residents to patronize H on the Harbor," said Mindy Germain, executive director of RFMBPW. "And we hope it inspires other business to show the same level of commitment to the community."

The "Golden Storefront" is awarded monthly. Votes for merchants can be cast on the Residents' Web site. Previous winners include Finn Mac Cools, Sullivan's Quay, White Plus One, SVH Interiors and Louie's Oyster Bar & Grille.
