New Homes Slated for Manhasset Isle
Two properties received subdivision approval on 30 Sintsink Drive West.
The Village of Manorhaven Board of Trustees recently gave the green light for subdivision approval to build two duplex homes on 30 Sintsink Drive West in Manhasset Isle. The parcel will consist of four apartments for rent – two in each home. The proposed application also known as Dunes Lane 28 LLC has been subject to approval since August 2011.
The structures will feature one two-bedroom and one three-bedroom apartment in each home. The builder, Daniel Zarabi, who is also the principal of Port Washington-based Custom Homes Corp. of New York, says the new homes would keep the character of the neighborhood intact, along with the architectural layout.
“In August we went in front of the zoning board and [were] granted variances and now the Manorhaven Board of Trustees adopted our building plan, so I am waiting to go in front of the Architects Review Board in January or February 2012 for the final step,” Zarabi said. “If everything goes well at ARB, then building will start in March and take approximately nine months to complete.”
The homes will overlook Mohegan Avenue and Sintsink Drive West and include several pine, oak, maple and cherry trees. The parcels of land are zoned C-residential. Both parcels on which the homes will be built equal 7,992.7 square feet.
Zarabi said the properties will look like one-family homes, especially when viewed from Mohegan Avenue, but they would be duplex homes.
“There will be partial water views on the second floor of the apartments in the properties facing Sintsink Drive West,” said Zarabi. “The rentals will go for between $2,500 and $3,500 per month.”
According to the Board of Trustees, two oak trees must be removed due to their height and interference on the property. The board said some fencing-modification was recently made by Zarabi.
If all goes to plan, Zarabi will continue to build on the peninsula.
“I am really looking forward to building these homes and I am currently going to build ten other homes in Sands Point and the Port Washington area,” Zarabi said.

I am sure when these homes are built that Mr. Zarbi will pay much more attention to detail thenwhoever wrote this story. Three beeming mistakes were made writing this story. # 1 rents will be $2500.00 to 3.5 million WRONG/ #2 8 inch trees never a problem 8 foot oaks perhaps are/# 3 The ARB stands for Architectural Review Board NOT architects registration board., I know ,,since I implemented the board during my 4 terms as Mayor. Someone had too much spiked eggnog.
Daniel has built some of Manorhaven's best looking homes, he does not build cookie cutter homes, he plays lots of attention to detail, his homes are well built and reflect a high level of young Ideas, instead of the same old same old.. His homes if built will cause a higher value for all the homes around them. I hope the board will move this project along quickly.
