Port Actor Co-Stars with Actor Eric Roberts
Dan Brennan works with Roberts in an indy action film.
Port Washington Actor Dan Brennan, usually known for his award-winning comedy movie roles and TV commercials, takes on a new challenge as an action hero, Police Sergeant Tommy Cavanaugh in Fred Carpenter's new independent film "The Night Never Sleeps." Brennan shares the silver screen in several scenes with actor Eric Roberts and his wife Eliza Roberts.
In the scenes, Roberts' character is confronted by Brennan's character Cavanaugh, who is trying to track down a cop killer. Roberts joked that the role "scared him," since in his words "I don't play dangerous people." Then he admitted that it was a fun role. Roberts' wife Eliza plays Cavanaugh's wife in the film and says it was fun to work with Dan in her scenes.
This gritty style police drama is action packed with shoot-out scenes. The film makers hired a top special effects crew to simulate the gunplay, made to look realistic by use of a device known as a "blood squib" that simulates a gun shot going off. Brennan demonstrated getting shot in the arm by having a squib go off under his jacket sleeve.

Always a pleasure to watch something with Dan Brennan in it; what a great actor. Not a bad filmmaker, either!
