Schreiber Graduate Katie Lowes to Star in ABC's 'Scandal'

The show airs April 5.

graduate Katie Lowes, class of 2000, is starring in ABC's "Scandal." Airing on April 5, the show is billed as "the behind-the-scenes machinations of a mesmerizing top crisis manager."

The show also stars Kerry Washington, Henry Ian Cusick, among others

Lowes plays Quinn Perkins, described as "a baby lawyer with a secret past and a lot to learn" who is known for her "intuition, her likeability and her optimism," though perhaps is too trusting for her own good.

Lowes has "many fond memories of school plays at , and the theatre and music productions of . Katie Lowes' brother Sean Lowes is also a Schreiber graduate.

A graduate of New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, Katie Lowes appeared in "Rescue Me," and then "Hate" opposite Marcia Gay Harden. Soon after she guest-starred in televions shows, including "Guiding Light," "Damage Control," "As the World Turns," "The Sopranos" and "NCIS."

In 2008 she starred as Brandy Buffkin on the CW's "Easy Money," before appearing on the big screen with featured roles in DreamWorks' "Transformers 2" and "Super 8," directed by JJ Abrams.

Independent film roles include "Dinner for Four," "The Job," "Callers," "Bear" and "Café." Recent television credits include roles on "The Closer," "Grey's Anatomy," "Private Practice," "Castle" and "Leverage."
