Racks are packed with clothes at Purple.

Looking for a way to sell unwanted clothes, bags, shoes and other accessories that you spent a fortune on? You can do that at Purple while also helping those effected by domestic violence.

Purple prices clothes and all other items based on condition and retail value. The clothes are kept at the store for 90 days and if they do not sell the original owner has the option to either take the clothes back, if not, they will be donated to a shelter for those involved with domestic violence.

The blueprint of the store came from the fact that many women cannot leave the abusive relationship because they are not financially stable, therefor forcing them to sell their clothes and accessories as a mean for supporting themselves and children.

This is a great cause. But, I have seen this woman who claims to have been through an abusive relationship driving around town in a Porsche convertible. Doesn't make any sense..............

Sadly, neither me, not my partner, drive a Porsche convertible. I drive a big family car, GMC, that looks nothing like a Porsche convertible, let alone drive like one. Whoever YOU ARE: if you would like to donate a Porsche to the Purple girls and our cause - please be assured we will accept it and it will be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Please make it purple.

So I guess if she drove a Chevy you'd then believe she was abused?

I am not denying that abuse is bad. First, if you read the article and watched the video, it was made to seem that she was left with no money, no means of supporting herself, etc.. We have to feel bad for people who are abused and have no means of supporting herself, etc.. This obviously isn't the situation; that is why I stated that she owns a porsche.

Next, I would like to say that many people open up "businesses" and promote that they give money to certain charities. This is great, but for only the few which actually do.

Why doesn't the article give us an actual money amount which they have donated so far? What is the percentage that they are "stating." Legitimate businesses which give monies have paperwork on hand which quarterly show the money which they have donated. The article never brings up these facts, and until they are posted, it is just false advertising.

If the clothes do not sell, they write that they will donate to the abused women. But, how is this going to help them live, as she stated, she had no means of supporting her self. I am sure that she is not referring to wearing clothes! Many of these people don't have the high line goods to sell, and they literally cannot support themselves.

Another false fact about this store, is the option to then send your item for donation. Any time an item at any store doesn't sell for a period of time, any instance, people always think about donating it.

So, every store should post that they donate their items to some sort of cause.

Last, why doesn't she instead send the $3,000 rent to the abused womens charity. It doesn't make sense; if she wants to help this cause, she could send much more help through direct, easy, real cash to the cause, instead of paying rent. Let's say that she decides to send 10% of cash to the cause, this would then demand that she brings in over $30,000 just to make the equivalent of her rent. So, why doesn't she just send the rent, which would truly mean that she wants to help the cause. If not, then it shows that she only is helping her own pocket...
