Village Elections on Tuesday

Polls open 12-9 p.m.

Three villages in Port Washington are holding elections on Tuesday.

In the Village of Baxter Estates, the incumbents Mayor Frederick E. Nicholson, Trustee Nora Haagenson, and Trustee Charles Comer are on the ballot. Polls are open at Village Hall, 315 Main Street, from 12-9 p.m.

In Flower Hill, four candidates are running for three trustee positions. They include current Deputy Mayor Tab Hauser and Trustee Robert McNamara, also an incumbent. Eileen Mills is also running for trustee. All three are members of the Flower Hill Party. Roy Nelson is running for trustee as a member of the Civic Party. Polls are open at Village Hall at One Bonnie Heights Road in Manhasset, from 12-9.m..

And in Port Washington North, a write-in campaign is underway  in an election that had been considered uncontested.  Incumbents Mayor Robert Weitzner, and Trustees Michael Schenkler and Sherman Scheff are on the ballot. Write-in candidate Selwyn G. Rudnick of Mill Pond Acres vying a trustee slot. Polls are open from 12-9 p.m., at Port Washington North Village Hall, at the Stop & Shop Plaza at 71 Old Shore Road.
