Folks,
Have you noticed the sudden and continous overflights of commercial airliners in PW?
Do you see them ?
Do you hear them ?
My biggest issue were leaf blowers . Until now .
Anyone with interest in making an effort to stop this, or at least minimize it ?
Help Wanted, Inquire within.

I totally support your efforts to stop this assault on us by the FAA and aircraft industry. It was bad 2 years ago and I complained - It got worse so I complained again and they made sure it got worse. now the planes have been added to the helicopters to keep us unsettled and spray us with jet fuel exhaust. what can we do to help?

Steve,
Get in touch with Len Schaier. Go to the Citizens for Quiet Skies over North Hempstead Website. He works tirelessly on this and really needs our help. I for one mailed out fifty letters to anyone I could think of and some I didn't even know to make them fully aware of the problem and encourage them to bombard the politicians with emails and calls. I am also in contact with Len to put together a petition campaign. I will keep everyone posted here, and would appreciate anyone's help with it. Someone from Town Hall is supposed to contact me about it tomorrow.
There is evidently an important meeting with FAA officials on Feb. 27th in Garden City. We really have to get there in droves and be represented.

Greetings
Tonight 1/31 is a good example night , its been non stop for hours now , about every few minutes or so . Fact is , it is likely to get worse , not better . First and foremost, there are some short term things of great importance that we need to do, in regards to making our concerns heard. Tomorrow , I am going to post the summary of that and provide the details accordingly .
In the meantime, we need to get busy rounding up other people that share this concern, and urge them to take the recommended actions that will be posted here.
Elise, yes have I been in touch with LS, and here I am a couple of hundred emails later ... I was at the meeting last week in East HIlls and did a 10 minute Rah Rah about the importance of getting more people to take individual actions, I really think this is a key element .
Back to tonight's festivities in the air (still going on and its 10:45 ) who would have thought that i would be plane spotting from my porch...... its non stop and continuous and such a huge disappointment ....
More tomorrow night, delaying a bit to get my facts straight, thank you Steve and Elise for your comments .... .

Tom,
I have called and emailed politicians about this until I am blue in the face. I too was at the meeting on the 25th, and was disappointed at the turn out. The PLANE (forgive me) fact is that many more people have to join forces with "Quiet Skies" the way we have.
We have to storm the FAA and the elected officials who can influence them with petitions and anything else we have access to so that they know we mean business. Come on folks- let's get rolling.

I just called everyone myself , all elected officials basically stating what I posted in the other blog I am working on the patch . I also think its important to get the names of people you speak with , and perhaps most important , ask that they please pass our comments across the desk of the elected official , ask for feedback on your comments and give them your phone number for that feedback. Yes, we need many more voices , I will be hitting my neighbors (again ) today .
