Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good pool…Read More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summer…Read More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?

I'm fairly new to Patch, so I do not know what the format used to be like. Overall, I find that it…Read More is very easy to navigate around the site, and the format is fairly simple. I've been on websites way more complicated and confusing before than Patch. Thank you to those who design, organize and update this site for the good of the community.

Comment threads NEED reply to, allowing ppl to reply directly to certain posts and keep it…Read More immediately under that post. Otherwise you have endless single streams of cluttered threads. It's a simple housekeeping item that needs to be fixed.
Also you need to be able to "return" space to start new paragraphs. Without that long posts tend to run on and on and on. People use patch to engage in higher level discussion then your 140 or whatever character tweet so you need certain formatting options in comments like the ability to have paragraphs.
Just my 2 cents.

Fact: after an obvious attempt at fraud, PWUFSD voter rolls were flushed and replaced with the…Read More Nassau County voter roll. It's was a "Common Sense Plan", and you know all about that. Take your own advice.
Nassau Taxpayer May 29, 2013 at 05:08 pm
"Any more lies..."? And whose would those be? The sorry, multi-year record speaks for…Read More itself, and continues:
"Sussman and Zimmerman's Plan... For the first time, Mr. Sussman and Mr. Zimmerman disclosed their own long-term facilities plan. ... Common Sense Plan for Around $30 Million ... Here's the Difference: The BOE Plan ... Common Sense Plan $85,000,000 ... about $30,000,000 ... 5300 Students ... 5940 students ... No POOL! ... includes POOL! "
http://www.antonnews.com/portwashingtonnews/2000/01/14/news/
"Mr. Sussman's way, has always been to tell half truths and to make personal attacks in order to get his way. Such was the case during last year's debate over the proposed School Bond. Then in concert with Mr. Zimmerman (with whom he is now, not surprisingly at odds) he offered up his so-called "Common Sense Plan," his low cost alternative to the bond, which would provide exactly the same services as the proposed bond. I haven't seen hide nor hair of the "Common Sense Plan" from our "construction expert" since the bond went down to defeat in May. Could that be because as I wrote on these pages, back in the spring, Mr. Sussman just could not do what he said he could in the "Common Sense Plan", for the price he said he could do it for? It seems that the high school is still estimated to cost $20 million a far cry from the $7 million in the "Common Sense Plan."
http://www.antonnews.com/portwashingtonnews/2000/12/08/opinion/letter.html
No, the fallacy and disingenuous "Common Sense Plan" and legacy of performance as a BOE member speak for themselves, and "it's not rocket science" why:
"It is extremely unfortunate when decision making that concerns our children's education degenerates into physical violence and inappropriate and childish game playing."
http://www.antonnews.com/portwashingtonnews/2001/05/18/news/
"One dispute occurred during the evening when Alison White asked candidate and former School Board President Richard Sussman about a comment made by NYS Commissioner of Education Mills, when he passed down his ruling of Dec. 23, 2002 on whether or not the district had to pay Mr. Sussman's legal bills resulting from his conflicts with board member John Zimmerman. The commissioner had written that Mr. Sussman "engaged in conduct inappropriate for a school board member.""

if we are going to sell off our 40 spot lot why not advocate for the LIRR to chip in and help…Read More building the 2 or 3 story parking lot on Haven?
with more trains and more population we need more parking. we are fooling ourselves that this is not a "Hicksville" type train station. we are a main hub and it needs a substantial parking lot that will help commuter parking and help retail parking in the main lots off of main street. anyone who does not want that parking lot built needs to really ask themselves why not. if we can build a new car wash on a main cut through street for no reason we can get this done with the same traffic nightmares!!!
BTW during construction which im sure will take at least a year. where will those people park? in the other lots, so us who take the 808 train will get screwed bc we will not have a place to park now.

I do not enjoy being hit with excessive advertising type stories as the top stories. I would rather read about the type of community stories which other newspapers (on and off line0 do not cover. Overall the old design needed a little work but was far better then the new designed site.

Having been whacked with a $70 ticket on a Friday at 4:55 down by Blumenfeld park because I let my…Read More kids play for 5 extra minutes. That seems nothing but punitive and indicative of quotas because money must be raised but not via taxes. I also hear complaints from many other residents, particularly moms, who may run late by a few minute because they have to get a couple of little kids organized, and can't leave them somewhere to run back to feed a meter. Main st is under a parking blitz and either it's an over zealous brownie or direct orders to keep the cash flowing in. I avoid parking at meters now and Main St seems a lot less friendly.
jonathan winant May 2, 2013 at 04:50 pm
Many of you are not aware that the P.W. police do not have the right to ticket vehicles at expired…Read More meters! Tickets at expired meters are done by the Town of N. Hempstead. Over time parking at non-meter locations is enforced by the P.W. Police. That info came right from the Police Dept.

Point is, if TONH is responsible for problems in Port, then Port needs to do something about it!…Read More Jennifer has a good point. Let's take back our town from North Hempstead. Yes, let's not forget that this woman not only was responsible for pushing through the Overlay…Read More District scam, but more importantly had a personal interest in this program that was overlooked. Her husband owns Cow Bay Construction, and several other business's that potentially benefit from the drastic changes she has planned for our beautiful little town. When they are done, our town will no longer be a quaint village, but more like the newer towns that crop up all over. Now she is looking for access to the top post in North Hempstead?? Imagine the damage she can inflict there.....
She needs to be stopped once and for all!
