DESCRIPTION:VILLAGE OF MANORHAVEN TO HOST WINTER FOOD DRIVE &ndash\; KICK
 OFF EVENT ON FEBRUARY 18THManorhaven\, New York --- The Village of Manor
 haven will kick off its Winter Food Drive on Saturday\, February 18th at
  the Village Hall\, 33 Manorhaven Boulevard\, from 12 pm to 4 pm. &nbsp\
 ;Participants who bring in nonperishable food for the drive will receive
  free pizza and soda. &nbsp\;Coloring books and crayons will be provided
  for children who participate. &nbsp\;&ldquo\;We identified a need in th
 e community&mdash\;each year\, once the holidays have ended\, our food p
 antries see a big drop in donations. &nbsp\;We decided that we could wor
 k together as a Village to help those most in need during the hardest pa
 rt of the year\,&rdquo\; &nbsp\;said Mayor Meehan.Great donation &nbsp\;
 ideas include canned soup\, canned vegetables\, canned tuna\, chicken\, 
 and salmon\, canned meals such as ravioli\, Spaghetti-O&rsquo\;s\, etc.\
 , boxes of pasta\, macaroni &amp\; cheese\, breakfast cereals\, bags of 
 rice\, juice cartons\, juice boxes\, cookies\, and crackers. &nbsp\;Plea
 se do not donate food past its expiration date.&ldquo\;We&rsquo\;re very
  happy to work with Sister Kathy at Our Lady of Fatima on this project. 
 &nbsp\;Every donation will stay within our community to help those who n
 eed it most\,&rdquo\; said Jim Avena\, Special Assistant to the Mayor. &
 nbsp\;The Knights of Columbus\, Council 1227 has enthusiastically joined
  in the effort. &nbsp\;&ldquo\;In keeping with our mission\, we look for
 ward to helping the Village with this project\,&rdquo\; said George Ramo
 s\, Grand KnightThe Winter Food Drive will run through March 31st. &nbsp
