Author David Evanier will discuss his book All the Things You Are: The Life of Tony Bennett (Wiley, 2011). Among America’s greatest entertainers such as Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ray Charles, and Sammy Davis Jr., Tony Bennett alone is still here and at the top of his game. David Evanier tells the story of Bennett’s life and sixty-year career, from his impoverished New York City childhood through his first chart-topping hits, from liberating a concentration camp to his civil rights struggles, from his devastating personal and career battles and addiction in the 1970s to his stunning comeback and emergence as a musical statesman, and unmatched interpreter of the American songbook. David Evanier’s other books include Roman Candle: The Life of Bobby Darin and Who’s Sorry Now: The True Story of a Stand-Up Guy (with Joe Pantoliano). Hosted by television producer Bob Waldman. Books will be available for purchase and signing.

More About Port Washington Public Library
The Port Washington Public Library has been serving the community since 1892 when it was housed in a local family's front parlor. Today, the library is a modern service-oriented institution - named by a national consortium of professional librarians as one of the 50 best in the nation.
The library serves the Port Washington School District and is funded primarily by local taxes levied on real estate. There is no charge for school district residents to join. As the library is member of the Nassau Library System, the Port Washington Public Library card entitles residents to borrow materials from any public library in Nassau County and materials borrowed from other Nassau libraries may be returned here.
