More About Port Washington Senior Community Service Center

Port Washington Senior Community Service Center

Port Washington Senior Community Service Center

9 Carlton Ave, Port Washington, NY
516-944-9654

The Port Washington Senior Community Service Center is a lively gathering place for senior citizens. Located in St. Stephen's church, the facility has been in operation for more than 35 years. Rather than face the prospect of lonely weekdays, seniors flock to the center to enjoy a nutritious lunch, and musical and cultural performances.

Exercise, Tai Chi and Yoga classes help seniors remain fit and healthy. Monthly birthday parties and holiday celebrations feature local musicians and performances by children from area schools.

Door-to-door transportation and trips to shopping centers and banks are offered daily. Professional staff offer assistance with completing medical forms and make referrals for services such as food stamps and financial counseling.

Funding is provided by the Nassau County Department of Senior Citizen Affairs, the NYS Office for the Aging and the U.S. Department of Health. The Center is supported by the Town of North Hempstead and the Community Chest of Port Washington.
