National Cheese Pizza Day, 'Clandestine Childhood' at Library

Some happenings in and around Port Washington.

At The Library: Clandestine Childhood will be showing at the Port Washington Library Thursday beginning at 7:30 p.m. In the movie, 12-year-old Juan (Teo Gutierrez Moreno) lives clandestinely. Will his secret affect a budding romance with María (Violeta Palukas)? This true story, scripted by director Benjamin Avila with Marcelo Muller, takes place in Argentina in 1979. In Spanish with English subtitles. This screening comes to us from Film Movement.

Squirrel Traps Needed:

Grande Fiesta Italiana:
 
Enjoy one of Long Island`s oldest and largest festivals with rides, games, food and live entertainment. Sponsored by the John Michael Marino Sons of Italy, event proceeds will be donated to charity. Runs from 6-11 p.m. at North Hempstead Beach Park. Free admission. Caregiver Support Group: Learn ways of coping with caregiving Thursday at a caregiver support group sponsored by the the Town of North Hempstead. Event runs each first and third Monday of each month. Program starts at 10:30 a.m at the Great Neck Senior Center, 80 Grace Ave. More info here.
