A Day of Learning - and Cooking

RSNS welcomes anyone in our Port community to join us for our annual Day of Learning.

This year's topic: Life Cycles
WHEN: This Sunday, December 2, 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

WHERE: RSNS - 1001 PLANDOME RD, MANHASSET (right around the corner from Lower Main St in Port)

10:00 – 11:45 a.m: Participants rotate between three sessions:

Rabbi Jodie: Pool's Open - Mikveh and Conversion
Rabbi Lee: Weddings - Symbols and Redefinitions
Cantor Eric: Bar MYTHva: Jewish coming of age as Hero's Journey
(There will be child-friendly projects led by one of our educators during all adult workshops)
11:45 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
FREE Buffet lunch followed by a cooking demonstration with Leah Koenig, a writer and cookbook author whose work has been published in The New York Times Magazine, Saveur, CHOW, Time Out New York, Gastronomica, and Every Day with Rachael Ray. Leah writes a monthly food column for The Forward and a bimonthly column for Saveur.com called "One Ingredient, Many Ways."  

Her first cookbook, The Hadassah Everyday Cookbook: Daily Meals for the Contemporary Jewish Kitchen, was published by Rizzoli in 2011. The book was named one of the "Best Books of 2011" by Library Journal and The Kitchen called it "a big, beautiful book that is also down-to-earth and completely accessible.
