Members of The Community Synagogue Build a 13-foot Lego Menorah

Nearly 200 congregants came together at on Wednesday, Dec. 8, the last night of Hanukkah, to help build a 13-foot menorah made entirely of Lego bricks.

Children and their parents and grandparents worked together for two hours to assemble layers that were then stacked to form the giant Hanukkah menorah.  Rabbi Zeplowitz led the children in songs as the layers were put together.  At the end, Rabbi Z. lit the candles and everyone joined in for the Hanukkah blessings.

It was an incredible experience for everyone who participated, especially for all the young and young at heart Lego fans in our community. This event was sponsored by the Sisterhood and was led by architect Stephen Schwartz of Building Blocks Workshops.
