Super Storm Sandy blew through Long Island and although this has been a very frightening and frustrating time for us, our school district has been most fortunate.
The Oceanside School District has not been as fortunate. The district sustained a lot of damage to their buildings and in fact cannot open one building at all. As a gesture to help them get back on their feet, the Port Washington School District would like to ask our generous parent population for their help.
The district with the help of the HSAs/PTAs and Parents' Council would like to collect the following items that Oceanside has requested:
UNFORTUNATELY, TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE. OCEANSIDE WOULD LIKE TO OPEN THEIR DOORS AGAIN ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 13Th. IT IS OUR GOAL TO DELIVER ALL SUPPLIES ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 14TH.
PLEASE DROP OFF SUPPLIES IN THE WEBER LOBBY ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 13TH AND ON WEDNESDAY NOVEMBER 14TH BY 10AM.
We are also looking for volunteers to help deliver supplies to Oceanside on Wednesday afternoon and to collate all donations Wednesday at Schreiber High School during the school day.
If you can help, or have any questions, please feel free to contact Mary Alice Kohs at firstname.lastname@example.org.
