Café Music at Dolphin Announces Performers for September, Mix of New and Returning Performers

Café Music, the Friday night music series at Dolphin, will feature a wide range of musical talents this month. On Friday September 6th, a trio comprising of Elizabeth Sun (violin), Corinna Boylan (cello), and Solomon Hoffman (piano) will play a program of classical pieces and several original works by Hoffman. The three are all graduates of Juilliard Pre-College and now attend Columbia together. September 13th will start off with a set by Port resident Chuck Idol and Manhasset resident Jamey Brull, playing original acoustic guitar music. Their set will be followed by another local musician, Nico Padden, who will be playing a mix of rock and pop covers.  September 20th features the series debut for two musicians, the first is longtime port resident Lisa Lay. She will be followed by Keith Everett & the Orange Morris, playing originals in the Americana style. The month closes out with award-winning flutist Caroline Sonett returning to the series, accompanied by Solomon Hoffman. They will play a unique blend of classical, European folk, soundtrack and original compositions.

Since June 2012, music has filled the Dolphin Bookshop and Café every Friday night at 7:00 with performances that are free and open to the community. The series features a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, classical, rock, folk, pop and musical theater. Many of the performers are Port Washington residents, making the series a valuable way for local musicians to share their talents with the community. Plus, the series gives Port residents a place to unwind on a Friday night with live music, and delicious desserts and paninis from the café. Over the past fifteen months, the series has featured over 100 musicians in 64 performances. For more information, or performance inquiries, please email: music@thedolphinbookshop.com
