Ancient Maya Discussion at Library Friday

Port Washington native and Mayan culture expert Ken Seligson to speak.

Ready for a Mayan adventure?

Ken Seligson will provide an overview of Maya archaeology and the most recent information about the Ancient Maya civilization at the Port Washington Public Library Friday.

The Schreiber High School and Brown University graduate is currently at work on his doctoral dissertation on Ancient Maya lime plaster production in Yucatán, Mexico.

Although archaeologists have been studying the Ancient Maya since the late 19th century, recent technological advances and breakthroughs in deciphering Maya hieroglyphs have changed perspectives on the evolution of this civilization.

The adventure begins at 12:10 p.m.
