Dodge Homestead Open House is Saturday

The Dodge Homestead is holding an open house on Saturday, from 1-5 p.m., at 58 Harbor Road, at the top of the Mill Pond.

This open house offers the chance to visit and tour one of the oldest homes  – circa 1721 – in Port Washington. For seven generations, the house was home to members of the Dodge family, where they worked, farmed, prayed and raised their children.

The event will feature live music, light refreshments, a bake sale and a basement treasures sale. Visitors will have the chance to meet the Dodge Homestead's  bee-keeper and buy some local honey, as well as watch the model boats on Mill Pond – a favorite pastime for the last 100 years. Also on view: the last out-house in Port Washington.

There is plenty of parking along the north side of Mill Pond or in the Water District's parking lot next to the Dodge House.
