Freemasons to Honor First Responders

First Responders from local fire, ambulance and police to be honored Oct. 22 in Port Washington.

Nassau's Paumanok-Port Washington Lodge No.855 will be honoring Port Washington district fire, ambulance and police officials during its scheduled bi-monthly meeting Oct. 22.

The event will take place at the Polish American Cultural Association Hall located at 5 Pulaski Pl. at 7:45 p.m.

Jeremy W. Bernstein, Master of Paumanok-Port Washington Lodge No. 855 will  preside over the festivities. The group will honor top officers from the different fire, ambulance and police departments.

The evening will honor the three major public emergency service officers for their timely aid to area residents during the Hurricane Sandy disaster nearly a year ago. 

"It is this selfless act that Freemasonry identifies with locally, nationally and internationally," said event organizers in a press release. "It is an honor for our brethren as well as all concordant bodies within our fraternity to show our appreciation."
