Kidstock Lineup Announced

Third-annual event at North Hempstead Beach Park Sunday.

The Town of North Hempstead has announced the lineup for the free open-air family music festival, Kidstock which takes place Aug. 18th at North Hempstead Beach Park.

The third annual event features nationally acclaimed musical entertainment and will wrap up the Town’s summer festival season with a showcase of a variety of exciting bands and national celebrities.

The day’s presentation will commence with live music from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., followed by a beach party with DJ Kev Dee from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and then finally a drive-in movie, “Escape from Planet Earth”, which will begin at 8pm.

Special guest emcee Roscoe Orman, better known as Gordon from “Sesame Street”, will introduce bands that play a blend of folk, rock, kid pop, and kindie rock.  The musical line-up is highlighted by Grammy nominees Brady Rymer and The Milkshakes, as well as the Bari Koral Family Rock Band. Musical interludes will be provided by Rock City, an interactive program presented by Bach to Rock, geared towards introducing young children to musical instruments.

There will be free arts and crafts and face painting. Newto the event in 2013 is strolling performers from The Big Apple Circus, a 50-foot bounce castle and bounce castle obstacle course, and athletic events like baseball, soccer and relay races provided by Unlimited Sports, located in Port Washington.
