A big crowd was on hand Monday for the final Funday Monday event of the summer season.
The celebration honored local veterans for their service to the nation. Dozens of prior service members from a wide range of branches and campaigns turned out for the event at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington.
Sponsored by the Town of North Hempstead, the celebration featured live music, games of all kinds, dancing and plenty of cheap eats — even 25 cent snacks like cupcakes and Twinkies.
But that's not all, also at the event, a classic car show featured dozens of gorgeous vehicles from days gone by.
Check back later today on Patch for a video of today's festivities.
