Port Girl Scouts Create Safe Driving Blog

Scouts hoping to help prevent unsafe driving.

Girl Scout Troop 410 in Port Washington is doing their part to prevent unsafe driving.

In an effort to earn their Silver Award, the scouts recently created the Drive Safe Port Washington blog to act as a clearinghouse for news, information and ideas surrounding safe driving in the community.

The scouts will be updating the blog frequently with videos, stories, ideas and information to raise awareness of the dangers of distracted driving.

Community members are invited to sign on and add to the safe driving conversation by posting their thoughts.

"Thank you in advance to all of you who will join with us in the future to make Port Washington a safer place to live and drive," said the scouts on their blog.

Assisting the girls was Port Washington Police Commissioner Dave Frankiln, Weber Middle School Principal Marilyn Rodahan and other members of the community.
