Port Washington Youth Activities girls’ basketball teams for grades 2-7 wore wristbands in light blue and purple Saturday to honor Sydney, a Port Washington athlete recovering from a serious sledding accident.
The backboards to the basketball hoops and the entrance to the Weber Middle School gym were decorated with light blue and purple bows donated by S.F. Falconers.
Each player signed a get-well banner donated by Postersigns.
Before each game, players and spectators, in a moment of silence, said an informal prayer of hope and encouragement for Sydney and her family.
