At the ceremony there was an unveiling of a a piece of the beam from the World Trade Center, obtained from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey,

"9/11 is seared into our hearts, minds and spirit individually and as a Nation," Mayor Giovanna Giunta said. "The unfathomable tragedy of that day along with the incredible acts of heroism will forever mark and bind our nation together.
Manorhaven was personally touched by both."

"Last year we built and dedicated a Memorial walkway at Village Hall," she added. "This year we were privileged to receive a part of 9-11 history. A one hundred pound steel beam from The World Trade, Center was given to Manorhaven.  it will be permanently housed at Village Hall in a specially built and donated archival cabinet. Firefighters, Police, EMT, veterans, clergy and dignitaries and residents have all come together today on 9/11 to honor, remember and dedicate this very special artifact to the memory of all those loved ones who lost their lives
12 years ago."

"This ceremony is in remembrance and love," she said.
