Remembering Sept. 11 in North Hempstead

A ceremony at Clark Botanic Garden enabled residents a time to reflect.

Community members gathered for a Sept. 11 memorial service at Clark Botanic Garden in Albertson Wednesday morning.

Sponsored by the Town of North Hempstead, the service provided opportunity to reflect on the day, when tragically thousands lost their lives, including 55 North Hempstead residents.

The Town was issued two pieces of World Trade Center steel, including one that is 10,000 pounds, (see photos with flag draped over it). The other is about two-three in length and may be displayed in Town Hall.
