You know spring is in the air in Port Washington when you spot Mel's ice cream truck.
At about 3 p.m. Thursday, Mel sold an ice cream to his very first customer of 2014. The young frozen-dessert enthusiast noticed Mel's truck parked two blocks away from her bus stop, and ran straight to the truck to pick up a treat.
Her first pick of the season? Birthday Cake, a new Good Humor flavor said to feature vanilla ice cream with a cake crunch coating, and a vanilla cake flavored center.
