Tonight: Port Holiday Magic on Main

Tonight's the night to celebrate both the last night of Hanukkah and ring in the Christmas season at Port Holiday Magic which takes place from 5-8 p.m.

The annual event will include great specials, entertainment and activities on top of great holiday shopping, dining, strolling and general enjoyment, including:

Dozens of stores along Main Street and adjacent streets, including part of Port Washington Boulevard, will have shoppertainment offers and activities, special events, discounts, free food and beverages and many other special shopping and dining experiences, as well as entertainment inside and out.

A Very Entertaining Main Street

Between Town and BID sponsorships, there will be so much more entertainment than ever before. Singers, dancers, live music, Santa, clowns and other street performers will provide entertainment all along Main Street throughout the evening.

First-Ever Port Holiday Magic Giveaway

Pick up an entry form at one of many participating stores. Fill in the form with stickers by visiting eight or more stores printed on the form. Submit your form by 8 p.m. the night of Port Holiday Magic for a chance to win a $200 shopping/dining spree bonus prize. This form and any additional forms submitted by Sunday, Dec. 8 have a chance to win one of many other great prizes donated by participating stores, along with a $300 grand prize. Both the bonus and grand prizes are being sponsored by the BID.

Go By Trolley

The Town of North Hempstead is sponsoring an old-fashioned trolley that will offer free rides along Main Street from Port Washington Boulevard to the Town Dock.

Store Windows Participate in Holiday Decorating Contest

In addition to the lamppost decorations the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce will install and the snowflake lights for BID sponsors. This year, a contest for the best decorated windows during Port Holiday Magic season.

Port Washington’s shopping district offers such an eclectic mix of unique stores in a much more relaxing shopping experience. Plus, a much greater percentage of money spent in the community stays in the community so by supporting the merchants, you’ll also be supporting Port.

The event is being organized and sponsored by the BID, the Port Washington Chamber of Commerce, Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington and the Town of North Hempstead.
