Treasure Hunt at a Tag Sale

Preview of what's in store when Reality TV comes to Port this weekend.

Estate sales are a favorite weekend pastime for folks of all ages in Port Washington. Brian Elenson knows this. His company, Long Beach-based 2MuchStuff4me, has taken a big presence on the peninsula, running various sales. Last weekend there was a sale on Bayview Avenue, and this weekend the sale is at 1 Third Avenue.

Last weekend, many flocked to Port Washington to explore the contents of a 130-year old house perched high on a steep flight of steps on Bayview Ave. It was loaded with antique and vintage items and it seemed that everyone went away with some treasure.

Though Elenson bills himself as a tag sale and cleanout pro, nothing at the Bayview sale was tagged. Instead, all prices were negotiated right at the cash register.

Elenson has built enough of following that a reality show produced by Time Warner's Tru TV is currently being filmed based on his experiences and the world of estate sales. "Big Brian – The Fortune Seller" is scheduled to premier on March 22 at 10:30 p.m.

The Third Avenue sale takes place Saturday, March 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or Sunday, March 6, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Who knows? If your timing is right, you might just catch the eyes of the film crew and be included in the segment.
