Asian-American Festival is Saturday

The 5th Annual Asian-American Festival, celebrating growing ethnic diversity within in North Hempstead is Saturday at North Hempstead Beach Park, located on West Shore Road in Port Washington.

The festivities will include cultural performances and a lively market filled with shopping, arts and crafts, and cuisine from China, India, Japan, Korea and Pakistan.

The beach-front festival runs from 12- 6 p.m. Gates to the park opening at 11:30 a.m.

Featured performances and activities include Chinese Lion Dancers, a Henna tattoo artist, Korean Tae Kwon Do, Archery and more. The festival will also showcase a traditional Japanese Tea Ceremony, Korean BBQ, as well as other dishes from across the Asian-Pacific countries in festival's food pavilion showcase.

WAC Lighting is a key sponsor for event as are media sponsors from the Chinese World Journal, Ming Bao Newspaper, and NY Chinese Radio AM1480 and AM1380.
