Author Philippa Gregory to Return to Port Washington

The author's books are the basis for the critically acclaimed Starz series 'The White Queen.'

Philippa Gregory, the New York Times bestselling author and historical fiction novelist, is returning to Long Island in September as part of a U.S. tour, with Port Washington her first stop

Gregory will speak on Sept. 15 at 7 p.m. at Landmark on Main Street, which is co-sponsoring the event with Friends of Port Washington Public Library.  

She will discuss “The King’s Curse,” a Touchstone book that hits the shelves Sept. 9. The book follows Henry VIII’s rise to power and is the next volume of Gregory’s Cousins’ War novels, and the basis for the critically acclaimed Starz series “The White Queen.”  The book is set in the aftermath of the bloody clash between York and Lancaster, when the Tudors ascended to the throne.

Gregory is the author of several bestselling novels, including “The Other Boleyn Girl,” and is a recognized authority on women's history.  She studied history at the University of Sussex and received a Ph.D. from the University of Edinburgh.
