Celebrating Cinco de Mayo 5 Ways

For many, it's a reason to feast.

It's Cinco de Mayo – the day that recognizes the Mexican army's triumph over France at the Battle of Puebla in the Franco-Mexican War in 1862.

For many, Cinco de Mayo offers a great reason to enjoy Mexican cuisine. Here are five ways to celebrate nearby.

1. Feast at Mi Ranchito at 195 Manorhaven Blvd. in Port Washington for its Mexican and Central American menu. If it’s warm enough, dine outdoors.

2. Enjoy a candlelight setting at Mojito Café & Lounge, 109D Main Street in Port Washington, for a menu that includes Mexican cuisine.

3.  It always seems to be burrito time over at Chipoltle at 44 Great Neck Road in Great Neck, but you'll also find crispy and soft tacos, gaucamole and chips, and more.

4. In Roslyn, celebrate at Besito at 1516 Old Northern Blvd. This popular spot is featuring  a Lobster Queso Fundido Fiesta Appetizer $14, with fresh Maine lobster with tinga and rajas topped with queso Oaxaca cheese.

5. Also in Roslyn, check out Poco Loco  at 1431 Old Northern Blvd. Here, you’ll find a margarita menu, tequila upgrades optional.
