Crowds Turn Out for Harborfest 2012 in Port Washington

The Town Dock buzzed with music, food, crafts and more.

It was a gorgeous day for Port Washington's Harborfest 2012, despite a couple of afternoon showers. The Town Dock buzzed with activity, from student performances, sea shanties, food, art, environmental information, and of course, community.

Patch will have more on the story.

The weather was beautiful until the clouds rolled in and the skies opened up. Regardless of the rain, Paumanok- Port Washington Lodge #855 F& A.M. was able to turn out 95 free ID's for children and seniors in the short time we were there.

Not showers - a driving thunderstorm with major wind gusts that blew down canopies and closed the event early- but what would HarborFest be without some wild weather. I've been there in rain, close call with a tornado, broiling heat and willing to come back each year.
