Alper's 2nd Annual BBQ Festival Benefitting Community Chest of Port Washington

karmaque [kahr-muh-kyoo] (noun): a rewarded state of happiness achieved while eating great barbecue for a great cause.

Sunday, June 27th
Alper's 2nd Annual BBQ Festival
benefiting The Community Chest of Port Washington

If you missed last year's inaugural event, you won't want to miss it this year. The corner of Main Street and Irma Avenue will be converted to a BBQ paradise. Bad Bob's BBQ, Harbor-Q Bistro and Wings Plus will be on hand to provide the food, The Mondays and 6 Degrees North will be there to provide the music and twelve amateur BBQ teams made up of your neighbors will be smoking, grilling, marinating and basting away.  They will be competing to be crowned Port Washington's 2010 BBQ Champion. Last year's winner, Team LaDiliQ captained by Stephen Edelson, will be back to defend his overall title along with plenty of 2009 alumni and a few new-comers. Come cheer him and his challengers on while eating great food.

The day will also feature BBQ demos from Weber Grills, games and prizes from Benjamin Moore, a hilarious wing eating contest and most of all, raising money for a very worthwhile organization - The Community Chest of Port Washington.  You can read a great recap of last year's event here and more about The Community Chest here.
