Alper's 3rd Annual KARMACUE

A Port Tradition - Alper's Karmacue.
It smells, tastes and sounds too good to be a charity event, but it is.  Join us on Sunday, June 12th for our third annual Karmacue to benefit the Community Chest of Port Washington.  All proceeds from this event will go to this worthy organization.

The Food
HarborQ Bistro and Wings Plus will keep your bellies full of great barbecue flavors and Baked to Perfection will be on hand to satisfy your sweet tooth and quench your thirst.

The Cook-Off
Who from the field of 12 backyard barbecue teams will be named the 2011 Port Washington BBQ Champion?  Will Dan Eisner's "Burnt Lemon" team defend their 2010 title?  Will 2009's champion, "LaDiliQ" re-claim what was originally theirs?  Or will another team step up to become a first time winner?  Port Washington BBQ glory is on the line (and some really cool trophies with pigs and chickens on them).  So come cheer on your neighbors as they compete to named this year's champ!

The Music
We are proud to announce that this year's event features three bands with strong Port ties.  NTOR and Rooftop Manor are both comprised of future Schrieber graduates.  Both bands will amaze you with their experience and talent.  The third band, Evil Prince Ludwig, features two members with roots in Port. Don't let the name scare you, they are a fun listen.  We all know local music sounds fresher!

The Fun
The biggest laughs of the day will heard during the Wing Eating Competition sponsored by Wings Plus.  If you (or your teenage son) would like to enter the contest, please email wingsplus@aol.com with your name and phone number.  The entry fee is $10 and the winner gets cash and gift certificates.

For the kids there will be beading and face painting sponsored by Peace/Love Art Studio and Om Sweet Om.  Other games with great prizes will be on-hand like last year's popular Minute-To-Win-It games.
