HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MAURICE CHEVALIER! Maurice Chevalier: A Song in My Heart (2006-59 min.). Born in Paris on September 12, 1888, Maurice started his professional career in 1901 as a singer and comedian. He starred in his first Hollywood musical in 1929, just two years after Al Jolson introduced the first all-singing, all-talking motion picture. In the late 1950s, his appearances in Gigi and Love in the Afternoon started his second film career. In 1959 he received a special Academy Award for his contributions to the world of entertainment.
