Film: “Safety Last!"

Store clerk Harold Lloyd arranges for a human fly to scale a tall building, but circumstances force him to make the perilous climb himself. The image of Harold dangling from the arms of a clock high over the streets of Los Angeles is an icon of the silent screen. Film historian Philip Harwood will introduce Fred C. Newmeyer and Sam Taylor’s slapstick classic, and pianist Ben Model will not only accompany the movie but will discuss the art of silent film accompaniment.
