"Holiday Wishes and Dreams" with Kate Beckman at the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society

As part of our newly expanded offering of educational and enrichment programs, and to help get the 2010 holiday season started right, the Cow Neck Peninsula Historical Society will present Kate Beckman in "Holiday Wishes and Dreams" on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 2 pm.  This cabaret-style performance of seasonal and holiday music, with some musical surprises, will take place in the intimate setting of the Parlor at the Sands-Willets House.  She will be joined by her musical director, John Farrell.  The presentation is family-oriented and very kid friendly.

Kate Beckman has developed a reputation as a versatile performer and an audience favorite, putting her personal touch and unique style into programs which combine the best of musical theatre, concert and cabaret.  The press has reviewed her as, "The most compelling performer…her deep, rich voice coddles her songs.  More important, she invests each with emotional urgency."  And as her audiences can attest, each new show outdoes the last.  She puts you in the palm of her hand and never lets go.

Kate, who enjoys a busy concert and cabaret schedule, is at home as an acting coach, free-lance production photographer, and performer.  With varied and extensive experience as a producer, director, designer, and stage manager, performing is her first love.  Her work has taken her throughout the United States and England with favorite projects and roles in Carmen, Kiss Me Kate, Tintypes, A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Little Night Music, and Nunsense.
