La Bohème at Sands Point Preserve - Free Matinee

Friends of the Sands Point Preserve's Summer Music Series concludes with the magnificent tragic opera “La Bohème” on Sunday, August 12 at 3:00 pm – a special free performance to encourage young audiences to experience opera in the magical setting of historic Hempstead House.

The special matinee performance also celebrates young artists in our community by providing an opportunity for them to perform in the opera’s orchestra and chorus.  The families of these young performers are all invited to attend.

The Palm Court of Hempstead House will be transformed into the struggling artists’ Parisian garret – inhabited by Mimi (Hannah Rosenbaum), and her lover Rudolfo (Adam Cromer).  Their bohemian friends will be performed by Mary Petro (Musetta) and Adelmo Guidarelli (Marcello). The music of Giacomo Puccini’s great classic opera is heartrending – and often surprisingly familiar.  Even the youngest children can respond to this music – and begin to love the opera.

This performance is free after the $10-per-car entrance fee to the Preserve; admission to the Preserve is free with an Annual Pass.  Seats are not reserved and are on a 'first come, first served' basis.

Particularly out of line since it's a shared-use puddle for camp groups splashing, not a good poolRead More venue for individuals swimming.

The TONH should be under some investigation for charging such a high fee for a very short summerRead More season. You lose most of june and the pool closes in early September. Better off paying as you go just purchase the parking permit which is good at the Manorhaven Pool and the Harbor beach. Stop buying a season pass in protest to the yearly excessive price increase.

And speaking of investigations, what's up with Jonny's Roslyn CC fiasco?

Contact the Village and the water district, it's probably a problem with a pipe on your street.
