Landmark’s Spotlight Gala is Nov. 9

The Port Washington theater honors local leaders, and features performer Rita Wilson.

Rita Wilson brings a night of song at this year’s Landmark on Main Street’s Spotlight Gala, on Nov. 9 in Port Washington.

The evening will be filled with music, gourmet delicacies in the tented “Spotlight Club” and a chance to recognize this year’s honorees – Peter Forman (Port Washington/Manhasset Office of Emergency Management), Kirby Veevers (adjunct professor at Hofstra University and independent program consultant) and Eric Rubenstein (Ruskin Moscou Faltischek) and Tai Wang (WAC Lighting) – for their contributions to the organization and the community.

Perhaps best know as an actress, (It's Complicated, Sleepless in Seattle, The Good Wife) and a film producer (My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Mamma Mia!), Wilson, the wife of Tom Hanks, says she initially aimed to make her name as a musician. Her debut album “AM/FM” features what organizers describe as an "intimate and beautifully sung collection of classics from the 60s and 70s that together make up the soundtrack to her life."
