Nearby: Community Theatre to Perform 'Daughters'

Eight performances of John Morgan Evans play at Zion Episcopal Church in Douglaston in December.

The Douglaston Community Theatre is performing John Morgan Evans’ play “Daughters” eight times this month at Zion Episcopal Church.

The dramatic comedy follows the story of four generations of an Italian American family featuring Port Washington Play Troupe members Kim Kaiman and Harriet Spitzer-Picker, both involved with this summer's successful production of "Grease" at the Landmark on Main.

During the course of the play, the family’s female members attempt to settle the future of the family patriarch as well as deal with their own marriage and motherhood conflicts.

The play, which will be the community theater’s fall production, will be performed at Zion Episcopal Church, located at 243-01 Northern Blvd. in Douglaston.

Matinees at 2 p.m. will be held on Nov. 16 and 24, while evening performances at 8 p.m. will take place on Nov. 15, 16, 22, 23, 29 and 30.

The show is being directed by Marilyn Welsher and also features Madelon Avallone, Elizabeth Bisciello, Sharon Levine. 

Attendees should enter the church from 44th Avenue off Douglaston Parkway.
