Date Set for Port Washington Party in the Park

Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington to host the event Saturday, Sept. 15.

To help get out of the back to school blues, Residents for a More Beautiful Port Washington, with the help of local stores and foundations, is transforming Blumenfeld Family Park into a carnival anyone can enjoy.

Happening on Saturday, Sept. 15, “Party in the Park” will be a day filled with activities of all sorts. The park will be filled with carnival games, inflatables, a cotton candy machine, a fire truck, animals from the Alley Pond Environmental Center, face painting by Dvora and more.

It will also be a day of performances. At 4 pm bilingual singer songwriter Louie Miranda will be performing a free interactive concert that will allow everyone to sing, dance, or even take up an instrument and be a part of the band.

Though all the events and activities are free, there is a suggested $5 per child donation. In case of bad weather, the events will go on in the Landmark Gymnasium, and the concert will be moved to Jeanne Rimsky Theater.

The carnival is a day for all Port Washington residents, and each residents is encouraged to bring their children and grandchildren to what will surely be a day they will always remember.
