'Stars of Broadway' to Make Return to Port Washington

Five Broadway stars to perform to perform at Community Synagogue Oct. 26.

Port Washington will get a chance to meet Broadway’s elite performers in an intimate setting with world-class accompaniment next month as the "Stars of Broadway" returns.

Sponsored by the The Sisterhood of the Community Synagogue,  the annual production will feature Broadway talent performing at The Community Synagogue, Congregational Hall, 160 Middle Neck Rd. 

Proceeds from the Oct. 26 event will help support Sisterhood enrichment programs and community activities.

New York casting director/producer Stephen DeAngelis presents five of New York vocalists who will recreate their most memorable musical moments and share behind-the-scene stories and amusing anecdotes in this exclusive all-new concert event. The concert begins at 8 p.m.

Performers scheduled to appear are two-time Tony Award nominee and Drama Desk Award winner and four-time Drama Desk Award nominee Christopher Fitzgerald (Finian’s Rainbow, Young Frankenstein, Wicked, Amour, The Merchant of Venice); Drama Desk Award winner Mandy Gonzalez (Wicked, In the Heights, Lennon, Dance of the Vampires, Aida); Alan H. Green (Sister Act, Play On!); Drama Desk Award nominee Kecia Lewis-Evans (Leap of Faith, Shrek, The Drowsy Chaperone, Chicago, Once on This Island, Dreamgirls, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Big River, The Gospel at Colonus) and Wade Preston (Movin’ Out). Eugene Gwozdz will return as musical director/accompanist.

Golden Circle tickets (first two rows premium reserved seat-includes private dessert reception with the cast) are $100, Premium reserved tickets with reception are $75. General admission concert only tickets are $50. Student discount tickets are $55 (premium reserved seat including reception) and $30 (general admission concert only).

Mailing address is The Community Synagogue, 160 Middle Neck Rd., Port Washington, NY 11050 Attn: “Stars of Broadway.” All mail orders should include a note indicating total number of tickets, price category and contact information. Tickets will be held at the door on the evening of the performance.
