NY Cosmos Soccer Game- Meet the Players

On September 29, 2013 at 5:00pm Be The Best Sport will team up with the NY Cosmos to provide tickets to the NY Cosmos Vs Tampa Bay Rowdies. The tickets are only $15 and all families are welcome. All children get to stand in a pre game High Five line and get to slap hands with the players as they take the field. All the proceeds go towards our Be The Best Sport program in our further development of new classes and clinics for the Special Needs Community. This will be a great experience and a great opportunity to be apart of a good cause!

Mission:
Be The Best Sport is focused on the athletic development of children with special needs. Our mission is to create and provide fun and exciting programs for children with special needs ages 18 and younger; such programs will offer recreational sports as well as music and art activities for the children and their families. Through these efforts, Be The Best Sport seeks to help alleviate the emotional stresses and financial burdens felt by parents of children with special needs; to share with children with special needs and their families, the benefits that participation in recreational sports and art programs can provide.

Be The Best Sport is an innovative and adaptive sports and art program for children who have intellectual disabilities as well as physical impairments. The program offers individuals exposure to a variety of art activities and sports such as basketball, soccer, and track & field. The goal of the program is to expose the athletes to the world of sports and art and allow them to develop and strengthen their motor, cognitive, and social abilities. They have have the opportunity to learn the basics of each sport, through a hands-on multi-sensory approach. The program helps facilitate the building of sport skills, confidence, self-esteem, and sportsmanship, while meeting the needs of each individual. Professional coaches, dedicates volunteers, and special education teachers will help the athletes acquire new skills and develop new creative attributes.
