COC Announces Winners of Window Decorating Contest

Shine Hair Salon takes first place among 35 business entrants.

The Port Washington Chamber of Commerce has announced the winners of its annual Window Decorating Contest.

Using a scale from 1 to 100 judges Sean Beckert of Falconer Florist and Jessica Haas of Port Washington Florist say it was a challenge to pick just three winners with 35 stores participating.

The first place winner was Shine Hair Salon at 51 Main St. A close second place winner was Wit & Whim, located at 6 Carlton Ave. Third place was a tie between Gino’s Pizza at 48 Main St. and White + One at 309 Main St.

The judges were so impressed with the many beautiful decorations that they added a category for Honorable Mention. Honorable Mention winners were: Alper’s Hardware at 81 Main St., Hair Studio at 143 Main St., and Impulse Boutique at 29 Main St.

With decorated lampposts of garland, lights and red bows on Main Street by the Chamber of Commerce, BID-installed lit snowflakes on the utility poles and a train station decorated by Falconer Florist with wreaths and a tree, COC officials say Port Washington has never looked more festive for the holidays.
