Dina DeGiorgio Presses for Town Council Seat

Port Washington divorce lawyer stumps on traffic, senior housing issues

A clogged Main Street intersection and an aborted plan to build senior housing on an unsanctioned neighborhood park are fueling a bid by Dina DeGiorgio to unseat North Hempstead Town Councilman Fred Pollack.

"Big Lie"=Team Tu"=Brian=Jason=jane=dave=GANG THAT STILL CAN''T GET THEIR STORY STRAIGHT=STILL COMPLETELY CLUELESS!
Ed Shendell November 03, 2011 at 04:21 PM
While I agree with Ms. Di Giorgio on many things, she is definitely wrong about the Main Street/Shore Road intersection. This intersection may need some fine-tuning, but the changes made were long overdue common-sense changes and the intersection is far better than it was. There should be a crosswalk across Main Street by the new parking lot and the roundabout route for pedestrians to cross Main Street at the light is ridiculous. Don't know what to suggest about people who speed in the thru-lane going east on Main Street; some people will drive like jerks no matter what is done.
Nassau Taxpayer November 03, 2011 at 04:25 PM
Exactly. Just as some will whinge like jerks about what is unquestionably an improvement in both traffic flow and parking safety. You know who you are...

Nassau Taxpayer November 03, 2011 at 07:24 PM
Confirms the obvious, as earlier stated! Brian=Jason=jane=dave=BEFUDDLED and STILL COMPLETELY CLUELESS!
Nassau Taxpayer November 03, 2011 at 10:31 PM
Brian, you're still clueless, and worse, you're making unfounded allegations. Once again, you are engaging in the "Big Lie". Lee Tu must be so proud of you.
Nassau Taxpayer November 04, 2011 at 10:44 AM
The facts have not changed; you have an active imagination, live in a reality distortion field, and are way off base with your various accusations. The fact is that Cablevision extorts to maintain content exclusivity. See Verizon v. Cablevision litigation pending before FCC: http://policyblog.verizon.com/BlogPost/642/VerizonAsksFCCtoRuleonMSGHDChannels.aspx The fact is that Verizon reserves public access channels, as does Cablevision. The fact is there are more channels reserved on Cablevision and FiOS than there is content to air, and very little of interest ever airs there; mostly dead air. (Sorry you can't get your garage band some quality air time. Keep practicing.) The fact is that franchise fee recovery is quite common. See your cell phone bill, LIPA bill, hotel bill, car rental bill, etc. Get your head out of your <cable outlet>, fess up and gain some credibility. Or you can keep guessing and casting aspersions. It makes my point. The true fact is you don't have a clue about this issue or anything else about which you rant. "Have a nice day", if you know what I mean. Keep guessing.

Brian/jane/dave/"Tag Team Tu" -- Why grant a new entrant a cost-free license when the incumbent pays a fee? Since the incumbent passes through the license fee, why would the new entrant fail to do so? Instead of answering those questions, keep ranting about your misplaced agenda. It speaks volumes. Not in a good way.
Nassau Taxpayer November 04, 2011 at 08:19 PM
Why grant a new entrant a cost-free license when the incumbent pays a fee? Since the incumbent passes through the license fee, why would the new entrant not do so? Practical questions, "Brian", not your whinging rant. Cut the BS, "Brian", the questions are pending.
Nassau Taxpayer November 04, 2011 at 08:53 PM
The confusion is yours -- continuing "Big Lies", mendacity and unfounded allegations. Why grant a new entrant a cost-free license when the incumbent pays a fee? The incumbent passes through the license fee, why would the new entrant not do so? Easy questions, "Brian". And to be clear, I have no relationship with the Town or any candidate for any office. How about you?
Nassau Taxpayer November 04, 2011 at 09:51 PM
You agreed several times already that this is a FEE, yet you continue to term it a "tax", and rant and rave making allegations. You are quite clearly a self-certified idiot, as well as clueless and "WOW... speech-less". A perfect candidate for "Team Tu".
Betty Ann Morris November 05, 2011 at 03:08 AM
Hear, hear, Mr. Brody for trying to keep us focussed on who will do the best job for all of the citizens of Port Washington. I / we happen to be in the unusual position of being close personal acquaintences of both Ms. DeGiorgio and by inference Nassau Taxpayer. As people who usually stay far removed from the political process, we felt that it was necessary to respond and point out that Ms. DeGiorgio possesses all of the qualities that we would want in a strong representative for the citizens of Port Washington and is of the utmost standards in personal integrity. No matter what your party affiliation, rest assured that Dina De Giorgio will do her best for representing the best interests of the Port Washington residential and business community. Please support her on election day.
Nassau Taxpayer November 05, 2011 at 11:59 AM
You continue to mis-characterize what you already agreed is a FEE. You continue to rant and make outlandish and unsubstantiated accusations. In sum, you are a certifiable idiot, and a mendacious stooge. You are in need of adult supervision. And WHO is "Doug"? Not me, "Brian" -- or whichever of your multiple personality disorder noms keeps issuing your verbal diarrhea.
Nassau Taxpayer November 05, 2011 at 03:38 PM
Pitiful "Tea Party" ploy. "Team Tu Blogger" aka "Brian" continues the "Big Lie", mis-characterizing what he acknowledges is a FEE applicable to both franchisees. Yet he continues to rant, rave and make outlandish and unsubstantiated accusations. Call it what it is -- childish and defeated.
Nassau Taxpayer November 05, 2011 at 07:05 PM
"Team Tu/Tea Party Blogger/Brian" - Only ONE question matters: Would Team Tu grant one of two franchisees a "free ride"? Seriously, would Team Tu do that? If so, why? If not, then a FEE is a FEE as you have already agreed. Feel free to elaborate, if you can. Careful you don't burst an aneurism trying.
Nassau Taxpayer November 05, 2011 at 08:52 PM
"Loonie Bin Blogger/Brian" - Answer the ONLY question that matters: Why would you grant one of two franchisees a "free franchise", a "free ride"? Why indeed? You said weeks ago that you some revealing email, but SURPRISE (NOT), you never produced it. So lose the lies and get lost, loon.
Nassau Taxpayer November 06, 2011 at 01:59 AM
"Brian/Team Tu/Tea Party/Tea Bagger/Tinfoil Hat Blogger" - Answer the ONLY question that matters: why grant one of two franchisees a "free ride"? Lose the "Big Lie", and get yourself fitted for a tinfoil hat to deal with that reality distortion field you operate in. Ya loon, ya.

When I moved here 19 years ago I thought this was a upper scale town with professionals and middle class , sophisticated people after reading these comments, if I was going to buy a house here now I'd look for another place. It looks like there are a bunch of crazy people here. Is this all about that there is another set of candidates running , so we have a choice for a change. Shame on you all, and if I know you or you know me I'll say it to your face. Up scale what a joke, I've seen local elections that were better. The mailings I've gotten claiming one side is playing "tricks" "having no experience" and Mindy and rachael and sally stating what a fine a certian candidate is is sickening, why not have their mother write a letter. GROW up the last time I looked there are more than one party.

I'm so upset I could hardly post the above message correctly
R Miller November 09, 2011 at 03:33 AM
Mayor Bob aka taxpayer not looking good for your man. Rumor has it he is down in the count. To bad he will not be missed
William Kramer November 09, 2011 at 01:53 PM
I've gotten a chuckle reading these posts, especially Nassau Taxpayer. He/She can try again in the next election since the voters (all of them Nassau Taxpayers) have decided to throw the incumbent out in Port Washington. The voters have spoken and they do not agree with "Nassau Taxpayer". It's about time.
Nassau Taxpayer November 09, 2011 at 02:02 PM
Well, Billy, the joke's on you. We'll all be chuckling as your divorce lawyer tries to push through Cow Bay Contracting's plans.
R Miller November 09, 2011 at 02:15 PM
Bob aka Taxpayer. Let us stop with the conspiracy theories. I think you have been watching to many Bourne supremecy movies and Burn Notice on TV. Heaven forbid she might help the building department expedite a permit under a year. It took me 8 months to get a fence permit for my house. That is not really work for the people in my opinion. I know alot of people who voted democrat accross the board with one exception as we all know now. So instead of being a rogue blogger hiding behind your computer screen come out a reveal yourself Mayor Bob
Nassau Taxpayer November 09, 2011 at 02:18 PM
Scott, you are the "model" of cluelessness.
R Miller November 09, 2011 at 02:24 PM
LOL. A crushing comeback from Mayor Taxpayer Bob. Dont' be nervous I am sure your patronage job in the TONH is safe. Please review the election results in the various districts and you will see that I am right with the voting results. The truth shall set you free.
Ziggy November 09, 2011 at 08:01 PM
I think Dina DeGiorgio will be an impotent council member as she will be the lone Republican in the Town of North Hempstead government. Change, for the sake of change, is not always a good thing.
R Miller November 09, 2011 at 08:49 PM
Correction on lone council member there is also Ferrara who is Republican. Hardly a large voting block to anything on the board but a little louder voice.
William Kramer November 09, 2011 at 08:56 PM
So we should all vote Democrat because a Republican will be impotent as a member of the minority? A voice on the council is always heard more since it is on the council rather then just one more dissatisfied voter who is fed up with the status quo.
Ziggy November 09, 2011 at 08:59 PM
This may not bode well for residents in District 6 that Dina DeGiorgio will represent - let's hope we don't get treated as the "red-headed step child". Some of us may get buyers remorse. Mr. Lee Tu has failed us - again. We need a stronger and more qualified Republican candidate with more charisma.
Nassau Taxpayer November 09, 2011 at 10:26 PM
"Bri", the day you have the first bloody clue about what you've been bathering, the sun will rise in the west. When you load up for your deli deliveries, please remember to park in the safe, convenient municipal lot. Double-parking on nicely moving Lower Main Street is not permitted. See ya around, chump.
