Dolphin Does Digital

The Dolphin Bookshop Launches New Website that Sells e-Books

The Dolphin Bookshop is now open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on its new website, www.thedolphinbookshop.com.

Readers who love the local store and want to support its strong sense of community but have switched to e-books no longer have to choose between print and digital. Through a partnership with Google eBooks and The American Booksellers Association, customers can browse and purchase from a price friendly database of over five million print and e-book titles.

The new website also posts events and offers staff reading selections.

Patty Vunk, the Dolphin's owner, said, "We're thrilled to be able to re-connect with so many people who have always loved The Dolphin and valued our recommendations. Now we can provide the book whether hardcover, paperback, audiobook or e-book. It's very exciting to be 'back in the book business' for our customers who are e-readers."

The Dolphin is also celebrating its 65th anniversary this year and has created a special opportunity for visitors to share their favorite memories of the store. Vunk commented, "Over the years so many people have relayed to us funny vignettes, anecdotes and poignant memories.  So we thought, it would be lovely to gather some of The Dolphin's own stories."
