Evolution Pilates Relocates

The studio stretches out in a bigger, brighter space on Main Street.

Evolution Pilates has moved several storefronts on Main Street into the space formerly occupied by the gift-shop Details. Now at 184 Main Street, the spacious, bi-level studio offers both private and group classes seven days a week, by appointment.

It's the third home for Evolution Pilates since first opening in 2003. "We grew out of the old space," said owner Mo Wolfe, "plus it was disjointed, it had no flow." Flow is crucial to Pilates, a method of exercise designed to stretch, strengthen, and balance the body.

The studio's new home is a charming practice space. Sunflower yellow walls, coupled with an oversize front window and a massive skylight flood the space with light. The bright, modern aesthetic lends itself to the practice of Pilates, which marries strength and flexibility training with concentration and centering in a body-mind workout.

The studio offers 30 classes a week as well as private sessions. Classes are capped at six participants; all instructors are trained in classical Pilates and accredited. The bi-level studio has a variety of Pilates apparatus including six reformers, six towers, six chairs, one Cadillac and three spine correctors.

"Pilates is all about details," Wolfe said. "It's fitting that we're in a space that used to be called Details."
